Often situated on the exterior of a building, air-conditioning units need regular maintenance to comply with the legislation that governs their safe operation. But access to them is often tricky, as was encountered with a recent installation. The solution was a simple set of steps but there lies only half the story.
Access to the air-conditioning units was difficult as it involved climbing through a partially opened window. This wasn’t the ideal method but it was the only way possible.
The answer was to design and manufacture a system that was flat-packed and could be assembled in situ.
By installing a new 90 degree opening window that opened directly onto the new steps the engineers now had a safe method of access.
