Planet Platforms launches innovative HGV access solution

Each day in the UK over three million people work on and around vehicles, with maintenance, loading and unloading being the most common tasks, and which often require the person to work at height.

This work can be complex, and even risky if not planned beforehand, and carried out with the proper training and appropriate equipment.

Vehicle work is a common theme for many Planet Platforms customers, and with their help and experience, we have designed and developed the CabMate® system: one platform that performs two jobs.

Dual purpose design

CabMate® rides over the fifth wheel which allows it to be used on both the front and rear end of HGVs, and its ergonomic, multi-height design means it can be used on various vehicles by different personnel.

The platform is contoured to fit around wind deflectors if used on the rear of the vehicle, and its aluminium modular design means it is compliant to manual handling regulations, with low-resistance swivel castors allowing for easy movement once assembled.

Efficient, safe solution

With a flat-pack design meaning no section is greater than 2.9m in length, you can transport CabMate® in most vehicles, and easily assemble it on site, allowing increased response times in maintenance work across several sites.

CabMate® is an efficient and safe solution for maintaining and inspecting refrigeration trailers, tractor units, or any other type of HGV, providing a fully compliant solution to all personnel tasked with working on vehicles at height.
