Profiling Platforms

Planet News

Protecting your asset is one of the major design considerations when Planet Platforms look to solving your access needs. Getting this right also improves the safety of the equipment.

The Autodesk InventorĀ® CAD software that our designers use can interact with files of various types. This enables our customers to provide us with detailed and complex models of their equipment, from which we can design our access solution around.

This asset could have a high financial value and an equal operational one, and the prospect of damaging it gives risks to its ongoing use. By profiling our bespoke access platforms perfectly around it helps to mitigate this risk.

We can contour the platform leading edge, fit it with protective padding, so that it mirrors exactly the equipment it is being used on. In matching these two interfaces we remove any gaps that personnel, materials, or tools could fall through, thus improving the safety of the equipment.

Where the access solution is required to work with different configurations of equipment, for example at different heights, then sliding lockable fingers and flaps help to achieve this. The preference is to use a high-strength composite board, as it can be used in narrow profile widths that allow for a more accurate contouring. Fitted with finger stops to prevent overextension these simple yet effective designs illustrate how we protect your interests whilst also keeping you safe when working at height.
