Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance

Case Study

Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance is one of the UK’s leading Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) charities. They are funded purely on the donations they receive and must raise £7.4million each year to keep this service operational.

March 2022 has seen them take delivery of bespoke staging to help maintain their AgustaWestland 169 helicopter (AW169).

Brought into service in June 2017, the AW169 is a top of the range HEMS aircraft, capable of carrying two pilots and three medical crew.

Servicing and maintaining this aircraft are critical to ensuring it can fly when needed and the bespoke side and tail stands keep the engineers safe when doing so.

The port and starboard side stands contour the side of the aircraft providing easy reach to the main rotors and engine. Telescopic handrails on these two stands can be lowered, allowing the main rotor blades to be turned without the staging being removed.

Similarly, the tail stand has horizontally adjustable handrails to fill the void when the tail rotor blades have been removed.

As a manufacturer, it is pleasure to work on projects such as this, knowing the products that we make ensure fantastic charities like the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance can continue to keep saving lives.
