The Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Planet Platforms

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA) operates two Airbus H145 helicopters from bases at Nostell Priory, Wakefield, and RAF Topcliffe near Thirsk. Maintaining the helicopters is essential as they provide swift medical interventions to over 5 million people throughout the whole of the Yorkshire region.

As their chosen charity partner for 2017, Planet Platforms has donated two purpose built maintenance platforms to the YAA, the first of which has just been delivered to the Nostell base.

Constructed from aluminium this lightweight solution gives helicopter service personnel the ideal platform from which to work at height. The initial trial will give the YAA the chance to use and evaluate the platform before the second one is manufactured and delivered to RAF Topcliffe.

Finished with red powder-coated handrails the platform sits neatly alongside helicopter G-YAAC and Planet Platforms are delighted to have been able to lend a helping hand.
